S.Y. Ipanema is built in aluminium ‘Alustar’ and has a contemporary interior featuring European Beech. Competitive on the water, Ipanema’s light-weight design and construction including a carbon fibre mast and boom, and incorporating captive winches for ease of sail handling, makes Ipanema a tough sailing competitor; displayed by winning first place Auckland’s 2003 Millennium Cup Regatta, just 3 weeks after being launched.
